Terms of Use

⚠ Use at your own risk. zmresume is a tool provided as-is, with no warranties and no guarantees of any kind. You assume all responsibility and risk for your use of it and for everything it produces, and you must review and verify AI-generated and automated output yourself before you rely on, send, or publish it.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using zmresume (the "Service"), operated by Recanon, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. The Service

zmresume lets you maintain a master résumé, create tailored variations, use AI-assisted parsing and tailoring, and share résumés under access controls you set. Features may change over time.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service.

4. Your content

You own your content. You retain all rights to the résumé content and materials you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate the Service for you — including sending content you submit to AI features to the relevant provider to generate your requested output, and transmitting shared variations to the people you share them with. You are responsible for ensuring your content is accurate and lawful and that you have the right to submit it.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to: break the law; infringe others' rights; upload malware; attempt to gain unauthorized access, scrape, or overload the Service; impersonate others; or post content that is unlawful or harmful. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that abuse the Service.

6. Sharing & public content

You control who can view your variations. When you make a variation public or share it, you're responsible for the content you expose. Anything you publish publicly may be viewed, cached, or indexed by third parties.

7. AI features

AI and automated output is frequently wrong and must never be trusted blindly. Parsing, tailoring, and assistant output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, fabricated, or otherwise unsuitable. You must independently review, verify, and correct everything before you rely on it, send it, or publish it. We make no representation or warranty that any output is accurate, complete, appropriate, or fit for any purpose, and you assume all risk and responsibility for the final content of any résumé you produce or share. AI features depend on third-party providers and may change, degrade, or become unavailable at any time.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (hosting, database, email, AI, real-time, and OAuth sign-in). Your use of optional third-party integrations (e.g. GitHub) is also subject to those providers' terms, and our own NitroType integration is governed by its own NitroType integration terms (forthcoming). We're not responsible for third-party services.

9. Availability & disclaimer

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS," "AS AVAILABLE," AND "WITH ALL FAULTS," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND — express, implied, or statutory — including, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, accurate, or error-free, or that any data will be preserved, retained, or never lost, corrupted, or exposed. You use the Service entirely at your own risk and are solely responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, you assume all risk arising from your use of the Service, and Recanon and its owners, operators, and suppliers will not be liable for any damages of any kind — direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive — including, without limitation, lost data, lost profits, lost opportunities, or reputational harm, arising from or relating to the Service or any output, even if advised of the possibility of such damages and regardless of the legal theory. If Recanon is nonetheless found liable, its total aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to use the Service in the three months before the claim, or US $100. Your sole and exclusive remedy for any dissatisfaction is to stop using the Service.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Utah.

14. Good-faith resolution

Nothing above changes this: we want to do right by you. If you have a complaint, concern, or request about the Service, contact us first at mo@recanon.com and we'll make our best, good-faith effort to resolve it fairly. This is a voluntary commitment to reasonable effort — it is not a warranty and does not waive any of the terms above.
